"The company previously told me that Threads users had options to see "fewer" posts from the bot in their feeds through muting or using the "not interested" button that informs the app's recommendations. People can also hide replies to their own posts if someone loops in the AI."
Meta is testing a Meta AI chatbot on Threads that behaves similarly to Grok on X. The early beta is limited to Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Argentina, and Singapore, but the public @meta.ai account is visible to all Threads users. Users report there is no way to opt out or block the chatbot account, and attempts to report it for spam do not show a block option. Threads users have posted widely about the issue, with “Users cannot block Meta AI” trending and reaching over a million posts. Meta previously said users can reduce exposure by muting, using “not interested,” or hiding replies on their own posts.
