Karim Crippa has been named director of Art Basel Paris after seven years at Art Basel, where he led communications for the Paris fair and served as senior editor of its editorial platform. Crippa has worked across public relations and editorial departments and previously held roles at Haus der Kunst in Munich and Treat Agency in Vienna. He pledged to advance the show and advocate for Paris, exhibitors, partners and Art Basel's global mission. He replaces Clément Delépine, who left to head Lafayette Anticipations. Crippa reports to Vincenzo de Bellis, who praised his curator's eye and communications precision. Past promotions of communications heads include Maike Cruse; Marc Spiegler brought an editorial background to leadership as well.
