An Ark is a 47-minute mixed-reality play in which audience members wear headsets to experience actors appearing directly to each viewer without physical presence. The production limits each performance to 200 audience members in The Shed's Level 2 Gallery and will run for seven weeks beginning January 9, 2026. The cast includes Ian McKellen, Golda Rosheuvel, Arinzé Kene and Rosie Sheehy (appearing on screen). Simon Stephens wrote the piece and Sarah Frankcom directs. Todd Eckert of Tin Drum conceived and produced the production, following Tin Drum's 2023 mixed-reality concert Kagami.
