"The trolls come with their own personality and story, encouraging visitors to think about conservation, recycling, gardening and the increasingly radical idea of touching grass once in a while."
"Dambo has become internationally famous for creating massive folklore-inspired sculptures from reclaimed wood and discarded materials, placing them in forests, parks and hidden natural spaces around the world."
"The Wild Center already embraces outdoor exploration, elevated forest walkways and hands-on environmental programming, so adding six enormous handmade trolls to the woods feels appropriate."
"The pieces blend environmental messaging with fairy-tale weirdness in a way that feels whimsical and engaging, turning trash into something unexpectedly beautiful."
Six giant trolls made from reclaimed wood will be installed at The Wild Center starting June 1 as part of the exhibition "TROLLS: Save the Humans." This exhibition is part of Danish artist Thomas Dambo's global project, "Trail of a Thousand Trolls." The trolls aim to raise awareness about environmental issues and encourage visitors to reconnect with nature. Each troll has a unique personality and story, promoting themes of conservation, recycling, and the importance of outdoor experiences.
