"For the third time in his career, Atlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson has won the Gold Glove Award. It's the first time the slugger has taken home the hardware since winning the award in 2018 and 2019 with the Oakland Athletics. While Gold Glove voting has a reputation for being funky over the years, Olson felt like a no-doubt selection after his 2025 performance."
"He led all first baseman by a country mile in Defensive Runs Saved - 17 for Olson compared to nine for the next-closest first baseman, Ty France - and also owned the highest Fielding Run Value among his peers. This past season was Olson's second best since coming over to Atlanta. While it is unlikely Olson will ever reach the highs he set during the 2023 campaign, he posted a strong 4.7 WAR this past season with a strong 136 wRC+ and .850 OPS."
Matt Olson earned his third career Gold Glove Award, his first since 2018 and 2019 with the Oakland Athletics. He led all first basemen with 17 Defensive Runs Saved, well ahead of the next-closest first baseman, Ty France, and he recorded the highest Fielding Run Value among his peers. The 2025 season ranked as Olson's second-best since joining the Atlanta Braves, producing a 4.7 WAR, 136 wRC+ and a .850 OPS. The 4.7 WAR mark was the highest in baseball at the first base position. Additional awards, including Rookie of the Year, will be announced this week.
