Jerome Reisacher's fascinating journey: Trained with Pizarro, matures at Bayern
"My parents had nothing to do with sport,"
"We just played for hours. At some point, a friend took me to his club. That's how it all started."
"That calmness, that craziness. He was different from everyone else. That's when I decided I wanted to be a goalkeeper."
"Suddenly, everything was serious. I was far away from my family, tired, but happy."
Reisacher grew up in Bischwiller near Strasbourg, playing informal football with school friends before joining a local club. A first stadium experience watching Racing Strasbourg and seeing Fabien Barthez inspired him to become a goalkeeper. He progressed through FC Herrlisheim and the Strasbourg youth academy, living at a boarding school and training twice daily, where he learned discipline. At 18 he moved to Freiburg, trained under Streich and alongside established players, gaining life and leadership lessons. Intense competition led him to transfer to Werder, where he trained with the first team until a knee injury halted his trajectory.
