The daily ICE L route will travel via Hamburg, Copenhagen, Malmö, and Gothenburg and is expected to take about 14 to 15 hours. Two roundtrip services are planned each day. The train will be operated by ICE L, Deutsche Bahn’s newest long-distance model, with low-floor design for step-free access across much of the carriage. The service will also provide more space for families and improved mobile phone reception. ICE L service between Hamburg and Copenhagen is scheduled to begin in December 2027 to prepare for the full Berlin–Oslo connection.
