Eurobike's Future Threatened, California's Voucher Program Retired, New Gravel E-Bike From Marin | TWR Ep 56
"Bosch and Two Major Trade Associations Part Ways with Eurobike Once the premier bicycle industry tradeshow in the world, Eurobike struggled to reach previous highs this year with lower attendance in comparison to 2024. Noticeable groups such as SRAM, DT Swiss, PON.Bike, and Campagnolo were not in attendance. Still, the show featured 1,500 exhibitors and over 60,000 attendees between industry types and cycling fans. Now, Eurobike seems to be losing even more support, as the motor/battery manufacturer Bosch and two prominent German cycling trade associations have pulled out of next year's show."
""Following lengthy discussions with the Eurobike operators, we have decided to end our cooperation. We could not see that both operators were equally committed to supporting the measures that would be necessary to make the trade fair fit for the future of the bicycle industry." Bosch eBike Systems CEO Claus Fleischer said that after "extensive discussions""
"Additionally, California's e-bike incentive program was quietly retired in favor of a hybrid/EV car initiative. The end of the state's voucher program means low-income residents will no longer receive support for purchasing e-bikes. Finally, Marin Bikes announced an electric version of its versatile, multi-surface Lombard road/gravel bike. The E Lombard will be offered in two spec tiers, both boasting a Bosch drive system."
Eurobike experienced lower attendance versus 2024 and several prominent exhibitors were absent despite hosting 1,500 exhibitors and over 60,000 attendees. Bosch and two German cycling trade associations ended cooperation, citing insufficient commitment to measures needed to make the fair fit for the industry’s future. California retired its e-bike incentive voucher program and shifted funding toward a hybrid/EV car initiative, removing purchase support for low-income residents. Marin Bikes introduced the E Lombard, an electric variant of its multi-surface Lombard road/gravel bike, offered in two specification tiers and equipped with a Bosch drive system.
