"OneUp provides organizers with shirts - for free. Organizers sell the shirts and keep the funds generated to cover the costs associated with their event. No strings attached. All riding associations looking for funding opportunities for local events are encouraged to apply. While the initiative uses the word "race", all types and disciplines of community cycling events are eligible. If it brings the community together on bikes, they want to see it happen (within reason)."
"All riding associations that organize local bike races and events are eligible to get t-shirts from SYLBR. From now until the end of 2025, OneUp Components will distribute 200 shirts. If sold for $40 each, that's $8,000 in potential money raised for community riding events this year. For 2026, through this program, OneUp aims to distribute 500 shirts. That's potentially $20,000 going directly into grassroots racing and community events."
The SYLBR program supplies free t-shirts to local race and event organizers so they can sell merchandise and retain proceeds to fund events. Organizers apply via an SYLBR Application Form and successful applicants receive shirts at no cost. The process is managed monthly with up to a 30-day confirmation period. From now through 2025, 200 shirts will be distributed; OneUp aims for 500 shirts in 2026. If sold at $40 each, the program could raise substantial funds for grassroots racing. Shirts are premium heavyweight cotton and printed in Vancouver.
