Paired with Agatha's Soul Cauldron, which stacks counters and grants creatures access to exiled abilities, Vivi enabled a dominant deck archetype that produced repetitive play patterns and long turns. The deck topped competitive lists and drove relevant card prices to extreme levels, prompting Wizards of the Coast to add Vivi to the banned and restricted list for Standard.
