"The 21-year-old wasn't quite as dominant in his first time facing Double-A bats but was also backed up by a great offense, including a white-hot Brooks Brannon having an incredible game: 4 for 4 with a home run, two doubles, a walk and five total RBIs. While the catcher was a big reason for the Sea Dogs' success, Franklin Arias also had a great day with four hits as his average creeps back up over .350."
Alec Gamboa made a Major League debut earlier in the weekend and then pitched five innings of one-run baseball for the WooSox in the finale against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The WooSox stranded eleven runners and scored only one run until the ninth inning, despite getting hits from nearly everyone. A game-losing home run came after Jack Anderson entered, and the offense did not capitalize enough overall to secure the win. Anthony Eyanson, a third-round pick, performed well in his AA debut by striking out four batters, allowing one run on three hits and a walk in four innings. His fastball topped out at 98, and he was supported by strong offense, including Brooks Brannon’s 4-for-4 game with a home run, two doubles, and five RBIs.
