Park Slope's 11th Street between Prospect Park West and 8th Avenue becomes a major Halloween destination with families arriving as early as 3 p.m. Neighbors create elaborate stoop displays that draw crowds, live music, costumed pets, and themed scenes such as a large "Jurassic Park Slope" with life-sized dinosaurs. Residents hand out candy and often run out early because of the high turnout. Decorating traditions have developed over many years, with some families changing themes annually and entire blocks contributing to an energetic, community-driven Halloween atmosphere.
