A viewer who didn't want to be shown on camera called the local ABC station on Saturday about the swarm and said she felt another earthquake while she was on the phone."
""I was just scared. All of a sudden, it was a big jolt, and everything started moving. I was like, 'Holy crud.' They just kept on coming and coming and coming and coming. And as we're speaking right now, I do feel it rumbling beneath me." Kathleen Singh said."
A seismic swarm of hundreds of earthquakes shook parts of California over the weekend. The swarm involved dozens to thousands of quakes close in size without an obvious mainshock. More than 350 minor earthquakes occurred near Brawley between the Salton Sea and the U.S.-Mexico border. Foreshocks began around 3 a.m. Saturday, and the strongest quake reached magnitude 4.7 just after midnight. The Governor’s Office of Emergency Services monitored the activity and reported no major damage or injuries. Earthquake expert Dr. Lucy Jones said this type of activity is common for the Brawley Seismic Zone. Brawley officials reported minor issues such as water leaks and utility concerns, while stating there was no immediate threat to public safety or major infrastructure damage identified within the city.
