"Going up for that kill I just knew I had to do it for the team,"
"I'm so proud of the whole team especially with everything we went through and are still going through after the fire and not having a gym. We even had to go the beach to practice one day."
"'A' game"
The intensity between Palisades and Venice remained high in the fifth meeting of the season, culminating in Palisades' straight-set victory, 25-23, 25-18, 25-18, at Southwest College to claim the City Section Open Division girls' championship. Palisades captured a record 31st section crown and its first top-division title since the pandemic-delayed 2020 season. Tulah Block finished with seven kills, including the final match point. The Dolphins overcame season disruptions from a fire and a lack of a gym, at times practicing at the beach. Both teams defeated West Valley League opponents en route to the final.
