"The atmospheric 'reload' will come in the way of a low spinning up over the Pacific north of (Hawaii) and another storm system swinging into the (Pacific Northwest),"
"This set up will allow for a moisture plume to take aim at the (Pacific Northwest) before sliding down the (Northern California) coast on Friday."
"A great way to describe the overall weather starting Friday through early next week will be episodes or periods of rain,"
"Not a complete wash out, but measureable rain."
Rain will return overnight Monday and spread from the North Bay south to the Peninsula by Tuesday afternoon, with showers continuing into Wednesday. Initial totals may reach up to a half inch in the North Bay and only a few hundredths of an inch elsewhere. After a brief break, a low spinning north of (Hawaii) and a storm over the Pacific Northwest will focus a moisture plume down the Northern California coast starting Friday, producing episodes of measurable rain through early next week. The North Bay and coastal mountains could see 2 to 5 inches, the rest of the Bay Area and Monterey Bay 1 to 2 inches, and the interior Central Coast less than an inch. Sunday into Monday looks like the heaviest period, and impactful weather around Dec. 22 through Christmas could affect holiday travel across the region.
