Martin Short Gives First Interview Since His Daughter's Death

And then Catherine O'Hara and then my daughter. I mean, it's been in four months. Staggering.”"

Martin Short described four months marked by multiple personal losses, including his daughter Katherine’s death by suicide in February. He called the period a nightmare for the family and said mental health and cancer are both diseases that can be terminal. He said Katherine fought for a long time with extreme mental health issues, including borderline personality disorder, until she could not continue. He shared that his wife Nancy died of ovarian cancer in 2010 and that he later lost Diane Keaton and his sister-in-law to cancer on the same day. He also referenced the deaths of his parents before age 20 and his brother during childhood, describing the cumulative losses as staggering.
