Internal Cubs Power Rankings (May 11): PCA Rises, Ballesteros Falls, and a New No. 1! - Bleacher Nation
"As a reminder, I'm using (some) off-days to rank the Chicago Cubs active roster (so no injured players) based on a variety of subjective factors that basically amount to how good this player makes me feel when he steps up to the plate or takes the mound at this moment in time. It'll be heavily weighted on their most recent performance and role, but each player's overall upside and contributions (and general vibe) will factor in, as well."
"Requisite note, this isn't exactly me ranking the BEST or most talented Cubs players in order. Guys move up and down, and long-term potential isn't really factored in. For example, Moises Ballesteros has dropped quite a bit this week, but I don't believe in him any less than I did when he was in the top-5. He's simply cooled off a bit, and that's partly what we're here to address."

Since our last check-in, he's made three starts, averaging 6.0 innings per outing with a 2.45 ERA."
"Nico Hoerner is probably still the best player on this team, but he's cooled off considerably at the plate since our last ranking (.233/.299/.317; 77 wRC+), so he drops a spot on the list. Even still, his ability to come through in the clutch, the complete lack of strikeouts, and the utter defensive dominance, all while leading off almost every single da"
The Cubs Power Rankings for May 11 rank active roster players using subjective factors focused on how players perform right now. The rankings exclude injured players and heavily weight recent performance, role, upside, contributions, and overall “vibe.” The list is not a strict ranking of the best or most talented players, and players can move up or down based on form. Shota Imanaga takes the top spot due to strong starts, averaging 6.0 innings with a 2.45 ERA across three starts, including two especially dominant outings. Nico Hoerner drops one spot after a noticeable offensive slowdown, despite clutch hitting, very low strikeouts, and elite defense while frequently leading off.
