The Lower-Cost Ikawa Go is Ready and Set

"“The purpose of the Go was to make sample roasting more accessible for people,” Ikawa Managing Director Alexandra Allard told Daily Coffee News. “Last year when I was in Houston [at the 2025 SCA Expo], I heard a lot of feedback from farmers that they would love to own an Ikawa, but they just couldn't. So since last year in Houston, we've been working on that model, making it more accessible for the farmer.”"

"While Ikawa's top-of-the-line Pro100X is currently priced at about $7,000, the Go launched at $2,100. Allard said the lower price comes partly from savings in material and labor costs through the Go's anodized aluminum case, versus the powder-coated cases of the Pro and ProX series. The 50-gram-capacity Go also forgoes the hard-shell carrying case and built-in exhaust sensor included in other models, along with the humidity sensor and illuminated roast chamber available only on ProX machines."

"“There are some components that are not inside the Go that are in the more premium roasters, but what we wanted to keep in mind was making sure that the quality of the machine is still there, that it's still reliable and that you always get the same results,” Allard said. “Ultimately your roasting experience is very similar and the quality of your coffee is very similar.”"

Ikawa, a London-based coffee roaster maker, launched the Ikawa Go, a lower-cost automated fluid-bed sample roaster. The Go uses the same fluid-bed roasting system, advanced profiling, and app-based experience found in the Ikawa Pro and ProX series. Some premium components were removed to reduce price and cost, including a hard-shell carrying case, a built-in exhaust sensor, a humidity sensor, and an illuminated roast chamber. The Go has a 50-gram capacity and uses an anodized aluminum case to lower material and labor costs. The machine provides access to an online roast profile library, warranty coverage, and customer support. Ikawa also plans further growth after the release.
