Dallas reached a goal to go situation and on first down Williams was taken down by Cardinals rookie Walter Nolen who made his NFL debut in the game."

Dallas suffered a holding penalty on a third-down conversion, a dropped interception by Mack Wilson, and a three-and-out that led to a punt before the first quarter ended.
