Barcelon devise alternative strategy as second appeal to overturn Hansi Flick's suspension gets rejected | Barca Universal
"Barcelona have been hard at work trying to overturn the sanction put on Hansi Flick for his alleged inappropriate behaviour with match officials against Girona last weekend. The German tactician received back-to-back yellow cards, which means he won't be available for Barcelona on the touchline when they take on Real Madrid on Sunday. Barcelona had made an initial appeal to overturn Flick's suspension, but that was rejected. This prompted the club to raise another appeal, this time to RFEF's Appeals Committee."
"However, as reported by Mundo Deportivo, it appears even the Appeals Committee has rejected Barcelona's plea. The body has argued that the images provided by Barcelona do not invalidate the referee Gil Manzano's claims, as well as the suspension that was put forth. This leaves Barcelona with only one option: to report to the Administrative Tribunal of Sport (CAS) and seek a precautionary measure to overturn Flick's red card."
Barcelona appealed the sanction against Hansi Flick after he received back-to-back yellow cards for alleged inappropriate behaviour with match officials against Girona. The initial appeal was rejected and the club's subsequent appeal to the RFEF Appeals Committee was also dismissed because provided images did not contradict referee Gil Manzano's claims or the suspension. The only remaining legal option is to file with the Administrative Tribunal of Sport (CAS) and request a precautionary measure to overturn the red card. Filing must happen immediately to allow time for proceedings. Flick is ruled out for the Real Madrid match, with assistant Marcus Sorg set to take charge.
