Jean-Georges Vongerichten opens ABC Kitchens at 55 Water Street in Dumbo, his first New York City restaurant outside Manhattan. The restaurant combines elements from ABC Kitchen, ABC Cocina, and ABCV and sits between the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges with a wraparound terrace and views of downtown and the Fulton. Executive chef Ayaka Guido will execute a menu featuring dosas, crab toast, empanadas, original seasonal recipes like fried quail, and a larger vegetable focus using Union Square Greenmarket produce. Cocktails will incorporate produce. Pastry chef Eliana Aponte will oversee colorful tableside ice cream service. Lois Freedman designed the interior using flea-market finds.
