Jean-Georges Vongerichten Completes His ABC Restaurant Trilogy in Brooklyn
"The new ABC Kitchens debuts in Dumbo at 55 Water Street, at Dock Street on Thursday, October 23. The ABC Kitchens is Vongerichten's only New York City restaurant outside of Manhattan (yes, it's technically different than ABC Kitchen - singular - in Manhattan). It's on a prime perch between the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges, with a wraparound terrace that offers a spectacular vista of downtown, including a glimpse of the Fulton, his Seaport restaurant."
"The menu at ABC Kitchens, created by Vongerichten and executed with executive chef Ayaka Guido, will feature dishes from all three restaurants. There are dosas from V, crab toast from Kitchen, and empanadas from Cocina. There will also be a seasonal focus, with plenty of original recipes, including a fried quail, and a bigger spotlight on vegetables. Vongerichten is excited about a new version of tomato toast with tuna tartare,"
Jean-Georges Vongerichten opens ABC Kitchens at 55 Water Street in Dumbo, his first New York City restaurant outside Manhattan. The restaurant combines elements from ABC Kitchen, ABC Cocina, and ABCV and sits between the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges with a wraparound terrace and views of downtown and the Fulton. Executive chef Ayaka Guido will execute a menu featuring dosas, crab toast, empanadas, original seasonal recipes like fried quail, and a larger vegetable focus using Union Square Greenmarket produce. Cocktails will incorporate produce. Pastry chef Eliana Aponte will oversee colorful tableside ice cream service. Lois Freedman designed the interior using flea-market finds.
