"Once you have a mod, you can attach it to a valid helmet/headgear by interacting with a workbench. Select the Mods menu, then choose an option that you'd like to socket to a helmet. Just remember a couple of caveats: Any mod that you attach to an item cannot be removed. Any new mod that you apply will destroy the previous one. If you switch to a different helmet that doesn't have the necessary mod, you'll lose the effect and the extra slot."
"If you want to unlock more weapon slots in The Outer Worlds 2, as well as slots for your grenades and inhalers, then you could opt to find the following mods: Extra Holster - Gain an additional weapon slot. Grenade Bandolier - Gain an additional grenade slot. Extra Primer Port - Gain an additional medical inhaler slot. These items are normally sold by vendors in settlements. Alternatively, you might be able to loot them from certain enemies or containers."
Additional equipment slots can be gained by socketing helmet mods or selecting certain perks. Mods provide extra slots only while the modified gear is equipped; perks grant permanent slot increases. Armor mods that grant slots include Extra Holster (additional weapon), Grenade Bandolier (additional grenade), and Extra Primer Port (additional medical inhaler). These mods are commonly sold by vendors in settlements or found as loot in enemies and containers. Mods are applied at workbenches via the Mods menu, and installing one destroys any previous mod on that item. Relevant perks include Commando, Grenadier, and Pharm-Thusiast, each with skill prerequisites.
