FIDE has opened an investigation into statements Vladimir Kramnik made both before and after the death of GM Daniel Naroditsky to assess possible disciplinary action. FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich warned that public debate in chess has at times moved beyond acceptable boundaries, harming reputations and well-being and enabling harassment, bullying and personal attacks. FIDE did not immediately provide details on investigative steps or potential sanctions. Naroditsky, 29, coached at the Charlotte Chess Center, which did not disclose a cause of death. Naroditsky hosted popular YouTube and Twitch channels and appeared agitated in a final stream describing stress from the accusations.
