Gay man killed by roommate who 'threatened to drink his blood'

"The victim called the emergency services to report the defendant's aggressive behaviour, but he called the fire department and ambulance service, not the police. The next day, the prosecution allege the defendant had a folding knife and confronted the victim about being gay. He reportedly quoted Bible verses at him, including a passage from the Book of Moses which said men must not "lie with a male as with a woman". It's alleged he also tried to ban the victim from using the shared bathroom."

The defendant allegedly threatened both men and told them they should face the wall when a "real man" walked past, because they were gay. It's alleged the defendant said he would "cleanse" the men and drink their blood. It's reported that the police gave the defendant another warning."

"On 9 November, the victim returned to the apartment. There, it's alleged the defendant forced him to kneel and apologise at knifepoint, but it's not clear what he was to apologise for. The defendant reportedly filmed the incident on his phone, but later deleted it. It is not clear whether the video has been recovered."
