Christian conservative activist rages at teacher for saying that his husband baked brownies - LGBTQ Nation
"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea."
"To that teacher that he said, 'I'm weird, and I bring brownies to my class,' and say, 'My husband makes this,'"
"I have gay family members, and they, they saw that and say, 'He's crazy. He shouldn't be in that school, in that class.'"
"What public school have hired that man to come and teach that to those innocent children?"
Margie Massoudi, a conservative activist in Duval County, Florida, criticized a male public school teacher at a November 4 school board meeting after the teacher shared brownies and mentioned his husband. She wore an American flag vest and said she had knocked on thousands of doors for conservative candidates, warning she would knock on 20,000 to unseat two liberal board members. She read Matthew 18:6, invoking drowning for anyone who causes children to stumble. She said her gay family members viewed the teacher as 'crazy' and said he should not be teaching in that school.
