"Taylor, 28, appeared in custody at Westminster magistrates court on Monday to plead guilty to stalking causing serious alarm or distress, for actions stretched over more than four years. Tina Rashid, a top gender reassignment surgeon, was the victim of stalking Ms Rashid is a senior consultant urological surgeon with a specialism in genital surgery for trans women, and she is the National Clinical Lead for Gender Surgery."
"Prosecutor Jonathan Bryan told the court that Taylor's obsession with Ms Rashid was first revealed in 2021 when she was going through gender reassignment procedures. She had organised a cake, to say thank you to the surgeon, and at that point it was noticed that she had a large number of photographs of the surgeon on her phone, he said. The court heard Taylor was discharged from the hospital, but later was readmitted with complications."
"There's a suggestion these complications were self-inflicted, said Mr Bryan. The defendant was insisting that she be treated by the same surgeon. She threatened to kill herself if she wasn't dealt with by that surgeon. Vivienne Taylor stalked the surgeon who carried out her gender reassignment surgery The hospital banned Taylor from seeing Ms Rashid, and the court heard she was later detained under mental health legislation, meaning no criminal proceedings happened in 2021."
Vivienne Taylor, 28, pleaded guilty to stalking causing serious alarm or distress for actions spanning more than four years. The victim was Tina Rashid, a senior consultant urological surgeon and National Clinical Lead for Gender Surgery who performed gender reassignment procedures. Taylor's obsession emerged in 2021 during her reassignment; she organised a cake, possessed numerous photographs of the surgeon, and was readmitted with complications that were suggested to be self-inflicted. Taylor insisted on treatment by the same surgeon and threatened self-harm. The hospital banned contact and Taylor was detained under mental health legislation; the behaviour resumed after she returned to London in 2024.
