Kneecap share powerful Kae Tempest collab "Irish Goodbye" (watch the short film)
"'Irish Goodbye is about the mundane things me and my Ma did together. I never realised it was the day to day stuff I would miss when she was gone.'"
"'Dan Carey wrote the music, and then Kae Tempest got involved, which was such an honour. Kae delivered something so vulnerable and emotional to the song.'"
"'I never meant to write a song about this. But someone sent my brother a documentary about my Dad in the 90s... That had a profound effect on me, seeing her happy.'"
Kneecap released 'Irish Goodbye,' a collaboration with Kae Tempest, as a tribute to Móglai Bap's late mother. The song reflects on everyday moments shared with her. Móglai expresses that he misses the mundane activities they did together. The music was composed by Dan Carey, and Kae Tempest's contribution added emotional depth. A short film directed by Thomas James accompanies the song, featuring various actors. Kneecap is also set to tour across the UK and Europe this spring and summer.
