The Los Angeles Dodgers finished first in the NL West every season since 2013 except 2021, when they finished one game behind the 107-55 San Francisco Giants and met them in the NLDS. The Giants took that series to five games and lost to the Dodgers. Kevin Gausman started two of those games and lost both. Gausman, now with the Toronto Blue Jays, said he wants redemption and referenced the Wilmer Flores check swing and facing Max Scherzer. Gausman has a 2.00 ERA through four postseason appearances (18 innings) and will start Game 2 against Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
