Jays' Scherzer to start Game 3 vs. LA's Glasnow
""This is what you play for, to be able to get to this spot, to get to this moment, to have a shot at it," Scherzer said. "You just think about, throughout your whole life, all the different things that have unfolded. Just so fortunate to have another crack at this. There's so many great players that have never gotten to a World Series, so many great players where they only have one World Series.""
""I was like, 'Max, I'm enjoying a beer, man,' a smiling Schneider said before Game 2 on Saturday night. 'He's so regimented and wants to know what he's doing.'""
Max Scherzer will start Game 3 for the Toronto Blue Jays against Dodgers right-hander Tyler Glasnow as the World Series shifts to Los Angeles with the series tied 1-1. Shohei Ohtani will start Game 4 for the Dodgers against Blue Jays right-hander Shane Bieber. Scherzer, 41, called getting a fifth Series start "awesome" and reflected on the rarity and significance of reaching the World Series. Scherzer was left off Toronto's Division Series roster and has made one postseason start for the Blue Jays, beating Seattle in Game 4 of the ALCS while allowing two runs in 5 2/3 innings. That win was his eighth career postseason victory and his first since the 2019 World Series.
