'Life-changing' - Cavan family celebrate 17m EuroMillions win before Christmas
"The Anglo Celt newspaper reports that the winners of the prize are a father, son, and daughter from Cavan. In a statement issued to the Cavan paper through James M Donohoe & Company solicitors in Cavan Town, the family syndicate said they are "absolutely delighted". The firm lead, Jim Donohoe, told the paper: "The family are over the moon. This is a life-changing sum of money to win. They are absolutely delighted.""
"The winning numbers in Friday night's draw on December 12 were 7, 25, 30, 37 and 41, with the lucky stars 5 and 11. It was revealed yesterday that the winning Quick Pick ticket was sold on the day of the draw in Lidl on the Athlone Road in Creighan, just outside Cavan town. "We're absolutely thrilled to have sold the winning ticket to a Lidl customer, and just before Christmas too," said Lidl Ireland's corporate affairs director Eimear O'Sullivan."
Father, son and daughter from Cavan won the EuroMillions jackpot with a Quick Pick ticket. The family syndicate said they are absolutely delighted; solicitor Jim Donohoe said they are over the moon and that the prize is life-changing. The family checked the receipt, signed the back of the ticket, contacted National Lottery headquarters, had the ticket verified and travelled to Dublin. The winning numbers were 7, 25, 30, 37 and 41 with lucky stars 5 and 11. The ticket was sold at Lidl on Athlone Road in Creighan. The syndicate is the 19th Irish EuroMillions jackpot winner; recent Irish wins include a €1 million Daily Million and a €250 million EuroMillions prize.
