"Owner of Celt bar on Talbot Street in Dublin was scammed out of €10,000, but says he has 'moved on' as former hurler faces sentencing"
"When DJ Carey appears in Dublin Circuit Court this week to receive his punishment for faking cancer to scam people out of money, at least one victim won't be there to witness his disgrace. Noel Tynan, who was duped into giving the legendary Kilkenny hurler thousands of euro for supposed cancer treatment, said he won't be giving a victim-impact statement either."
DJ Carey, a former Kilkenny hurler, fabricated having cancer to solicit money and is due in Dublin Circuit Court for sentencing. Noel Tynan, owner of the Celt bar on Talbot Street in Dublin, was duped into giving €10,000 for supposed cancer treatment. Tynan identifies himself as one of several victims who lost money to the scheme. Tynan will not attend Carey’s sentencing hearing and will not provide a victim-impact statement. Tynan states that he has moved on from the loss and chosen not to participate in the court proceedings.
