"Lawyers for Sarah Jane Byrne (37) and her co-accused, Jamie Moss (22), today asked the three-judge court to be as lenient as possible given that both pleaded guilty to firearms offences, neither have any previous convictions and are considered at low risk of reoffending."
Sarah Jane Byrne, 37, described as a 'vulnerable' young mother who has "overcome the difficulties in her life", was found in possession of an arsenal of weapons and remanded in custody by the Special Criminal Court. Her co-accused, Jamie Moss, 22, also pleaded guilty to firearms offences. Both defendants have no previous convictions and are assessed as low risk of reoffending. Their lawyers asked the three-judge court for leniency based on the guilty pleas, the absence of prior convictions, and the low assessed risk of future offending.
