Mackenzie Dern earned a unanimous decision victory over Virna Jandiroba to claim the vacant UFC women's strawweight title. Dern wanted a finish but felt she left everything in the fight and described feeling sore yet elated. Dern plans to return to training, improve her striking, and expects a large target on her back as champion. Dern expressed interest in facing Tatiana Suarez and prefers additional grappling-heavy opponents. Dern acknowledged that defending the belt will be more difficult than winning it and committed to reworking her skills each fight so opponents cannot find a consistent way to beat her.
