"I have family that's been affected and friends, so I decided maybe we can do something to help them. I created a foundation that's been up and running for about a year. It's more so to help the inner city youth and underprivileged kids to learn martial arts for free. To be able to train and potentially become MMA fighters."
"We decided to help with some relief, so we set up an account. We've been taking donations and everything, and the UFC stepped in as well. I asked them to match something I put in, and they went way above and beyond, past what I asked them to match. So I wanted to shout them out for that because they didn't have to do that. If anyone's interested, it's called the Randy Brown foundation."
Randy Brown created the Randy Brown Foundation to help inner-city and underprivileged youth in Jamaica learn martial arts for free and potentially train as MMA fighters. Hurricane Melissa affected his family and friends in Jamaica, prompting him to expand the foundation’s work into disaster relief by opening an account to accept donations. The UFC matched and exceeded his donation when asked to match, contributing significant additional support. Brown’s main-event fight rescheduling gives him a larger platform to raise awareness and encourage further donations. He faces Gabriel Bonfim at UFC Vegas 111 on Saturday night.
