"Taylor Swift is up for another major honor with the pop superstar being named among the 2026 nominees for the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Fifteen years after receiving the institution's Hal David Starlight Award for a young songwriter making a significant impact the 35-year-old is up for official membership, alongside an array of seasoned heavyweights and hitmakers from the worlds of pop, hip-hop, folk, country and rock music."
"On Thursday, the New York City-based organization announced that LL Cool J, Kenny Loggins, Pink, Sarah McLachlan, David Byrne and KISS were included in its list of nominees for potential induction into next year's class. Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine, and Jane M. Wiedlin of The Go-Go's, along with Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings of The Guess Who, and Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell from America are among other notable names."
Taylor Swift is among the 2026 Songwriters Hall of Fame nominees and remains eligible for induction after her first commercial release in 2006. The organization compiled a 27-person ballot split between performing and non-performing songwriters, with three inductees chosen from each category after voting concludes Dec. 4. Nominees include LL Cool J, Kenny Loggins, Pink, Sarah McLachlan, David Byrne, KISS, members of The Go-Go's, Randy Bachman, Burton Cummings, Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell, Terry Britten, Graham Lyle, Bob McDill, and Walter Afanasieff. Swift received the Hal David Starlight Award fifteen years earlier and could become the first Starlight recipient to gain full Hall of Fame membership if inducted in June.
