Junior H addresses corrido controversy with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum

Junior H joined President Claudia Sheinbaum to promote México Canta, a binational music competition organized by Mexico’s Ministry of Culture. The contest, in its second year, aims to amplify Mexican music’s appeal while moving away from violent associations. Junior H reflected on his rise to fame through songs such as “El Azul” and “El Hijo Mayor,” which have been linked to narcoculture. He said his earlier stories did not match the positive message of his current work and emphasized music’s responsibility to shape listeners’ futures. He called for expressing reality through peace and encouraging young people to pursue their dreams.
