Inman: 10 things that caught my eye in 49ers' 10th win of season
"Absolutely just diabolical behavior by our QB1, but I love it,"
"Honestly, I thought it was dumb, the whole ball fake at the end," Purdy said. "...I respect him and he's a great player. So for me to do that, I was like, 'Bro, I'm sorry that was stupid in the moment.' I don't know why I did that, but I did."
""I'm looking downfield and trying to see where the ball should go," Shanahan said. "And then I look back and he is running down the sidelines. ... That was a huge explosive to get us going.""
Brock Purdy completed a season-best 76.7% of his passes, threw three touchdown passes and ran seven times, including a 26-yard run that sparked a 95-yard touchdown drive. The 49ers defeated the Tennessee Titans 34-27 and improved to 10-4. Purdy's sideline run featured a fake handoff to Christian McCaffrey, a pump fake and a baited move against Cody Barton. Ricky Pearsall finished with 96 yards but limped off after aggravating a months-long right-knee PCL injury and also hurt his ankle earlier. Teammates reacted with amusement and approval to Purdy's competitive flair.
