""Can we just make it official and sign [Gronkowski] for a day so he can retire as a Patriot?""
Rob Gronkowski spent nine years with the New England Patriots and will sign a one-day contract to retire as a Patriots player. He won three of his four Super Bowl rings with the Patriots. He announced the ceremonial signing on Fox NFL Sunday. The Patriots scheduled the signing for Wednesday at 12:15 PM and will stream it live on team digital and social channels. Gronkowski was a second-round pick in 2010 and became a key member of the Patriots under coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady. He retired after 2018, returned in 2020 to join Brady in Tampa Bay, won another Super Bowl, and then retired again. The idea for the ceremonial signing was suggested by Susan Hurley during a Boston ribbon-cutting, and both Kraft and Gronkowski indicated approval.
