Alex Ovechkin keeps chasing No. 900 as Capitals meet Blue Jackets
"COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Washington Capitals have seen the Columbus Blue Jackets a lot lately. The two teams met twice in the preseason last fall, then four times in the regular season, including a home-and-home set of games in April. They played twice again this fall in the preseason, and now meet Friday at Nationwide Arena for their first of four meetings this season."
""It feels like we've seen this team 15 teams in the last two years," Carbery said with a chuckle, standing outside the visitors' dressing room at Nationwide Arena. "I feel like I've been in this building so often." Columbus opened the season with three losses in its first four games, then won its most recent two games heading into Friday's matchup."
"Center Pierre-Luc Dubois remains out with a lower body injury for the Capitals. Defenseman Rasmus Sandin is day-to-day with an upper body injury suffered against the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday and won't play Friday; Declan Chisholm draws into the lineup in his absence. Logan Thompson is the expected starting goaltender for Washington and Jet Greaves, who shut out the Capitals in Columbus in April, will be the starter for the Blue Jackets."
