Smith-Pelly played eight seasons in the NHL for the Anaheim Ducks (2011-2015), Montreal Canadiens (2015-2016), New Jersey Devils (2016-2017), and Washington Capitals (2017-2019). DSP was a member of the Capitals' Stanley Cup team in 2018, scoring the game-tying goal in Game 5 - the same night they became champions."
Devante Smith-Pelly was hired by the NHL Network as a studio analyst. His first appearance will be on NHL Tonight: First Shift at 4 pm EST with EJ Hradek. He is scheduled for NHL Tonight on November 4 at 9 pm EST with Tony Luftman and Bruce Boudreau, and on November 5 at 10 pm EST with Jamison Coyle and Mike Johnson. Smith-Pelly said players gravitate to NHL Network and he is excited to share his experiences and perspective from the ice. He joins Pat Maroon and Nate Thompson on the network. He played eight NHL seasons and scored the Game 5 tying goal in the Capitals' 2018 Stanley Cup run.
