Firefighter dies during Brooklyn blaze: FDNY
""This family is a firefighter family," Adams said. "They have been dedicated to protecting the lives of New Yorkers, and we will all cherish Patrick's memory.""
""He lost his life protecting the citizens of the city of New York," Guerra said."
Patrick Brady, 42, an 11-year FDNY veteran, went into cardiac arrest while on the roof responding to a fire on Kings Highway in Brooklyn and died shortly after being taken to a hospital. Brady came from a multigenerational firefighting family with brothers, a cousin and an uncle who are active or retired firefighters. Mayor Eric Adams called the family a firefighter family and said they have been dedicated to protecting New Yorkers and that Patrick's memory will be cherished. First Deputy Commissioner Mark Guerra said Brady's death is the second FDNY fatality in two weeks and noted he died protecting city residents.
