The 2025 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Has Been Chosen! What to Know
"I'm excited to make more cherished memories with my family and childhood friends as it becomes the world's Christmas tree,"
"As soon as I saw it, I knew it was perfect,"
"What I look for is a tree you'd want in your living room, but on a grander scale,"
"It needs to make people smile the second they see it."
A 75-year-old Norway Spruce from East Greenbush was donated by the Russ family to serve as the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. The tree stands 75 feet tall, measures 45 feet in diameter, and weighs 11 tons. Head gardener Erik Pauze selected the tree, noting he looks for a specimen suited for a living room on a grander scale that makes people smile. The tree will be cut on Nov. 6 and arrive at Rockefeller Center on Nov. 8. It will be adorned with 50,000 multi-colored, energy-efficient LED lights on roughly five miles of wire and topped by a roughly nine-foot, 900-pound Swarovski star covered with three million crystals. The tree will be lit during the live "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" special.
