"I'm excited to make more cherished memories with my family and childhood friends as it becomes the world's Christmas tree."
"As soon as I saw it, I knew it was perfect."
"What I look for is a tree you'd want in your living room, but on a grander scale."
"It needs to make people smile the second they see it."
A 75-foot, roughly 45-foot-wide Norway spruce from East Greenbush, New York will be the 2025 Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. The Russ family donated the tree, which has stood as a backdrop for family celebrations for more than 60 years and is estimated to be about 75 years old. The tree will be cut on November 6, transported 130 miles to Manhattan on November 8, and raised at Rockefeller Plaza for a December 3 lighting. Crews will string over 50,000 LED lights and install a nine-foot, Swarovski star. After the season, the tree will be milled into lumber and donated to Habitat for Humanity.
