"Police have released footage of a woman wanted for questioning after a newborn baby with its umbilical cord still attached was found abandoned at a New York City subway station. A clip released by the NYPD Tuesday shows the woman holding a bundle wrapped in white cloths in her arms as she walks down the sidewalk near 7th Avenue and 34th Street in Midtown - not far from where the baby was discovered at the 34th Street-Penn Station."
"About a half-hour earlier, an unidentified individual had entered the station and left the baby on the dirty floor wrapped in a blanket, according to police. The person then exited the subway and fled on foot. The baby, who was conscious and alert with her umbilical cord still attached, was taken by police in a cruiser to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, cops and sources said."
Officers found a newborn girl around 9:30 a.m. on the southbound platform of the 1 train at 34th Street‑Penn Station during the morning rush. The infant was conscious and alert with her umbilical cord still attached and was transported by police to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. About a half-hour earlier, an unidentified person entered the station, left the baby wrapped in a blanket on the dirty floor, then exited and fled on foot. The NYPD released video showing a woman in pink pants, a red headscarf and glasses carrying a bundle wrapped in white cloths near 7th Avenue and 34th Street. No arrests have been made.
