A black-and-white dog ran into the Ted Williams Tunnel on Thursday morning and moved toward oncoming traffic. MassDOT surveillance video captured the dog trotting in the tunnel as a State Police trooper brought traffic to a standstill to effect a rescue. The dog initially evaded capture but eventually hopped into a waiting police cruiser and was retrieved safely near the East Boston side of the tunnel. State Police had not immediately responded to requests for further information. MassDOT released the video showing the sequence of events and the eventual safe recovery of the animal.
