ICE secured a five-year, $5.7 million contract through Carahsoft for licenses to Zignal Labs, a social media monitoring platform. Zignal Labs uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to analyze billions of social media posts daily and offers curated detection feeds intended to help law enforcement detect and respond to threats more quickly. Zignal already has federal contracts with the Secret Service, Department of Defense, and Department of Transportation and is used by the Israeli military and the Pentagon. The new licenses are designated for Homeland Security Investigations to support real-time data analysis for criminal investigations, expanding ICE's social media surveillance tools.
