Real Madrid lost 1-0 at Anfield to Liverpool in the Champions League after Alexis Mac Allister's 61st-minute header decided the match. Thibaut Courtois produced a superb performance in goal, making eight saves and denying multiple efforts from Dominik Szoboszlai. Courtois had previously conceded on the first shot on target against Marseille this season but then recorded 19 consecutive European saves before Liverpool beat him with their eighth shot on target.
