Ubuntu Festival takes place Sunday, November 9 at Golden Gate Park's Music Concourse Bandshell from 12:00 PM to 7:30 PM. The free, all-ages event features reggae legend Pato Banton and his band The Now Generation, Antoinette Rootsdawtah, special guests, and DJs Irie Dole, Guid8nce, and Sep for a Crucial Reggae Sunday. The festival centers the African philosophy of Ubuntu — "I am because we are" — and recognizes National Indigenous People's Month. A food drive will collect shelf-stable proteins, snacks, rice, pasta, powdered milk, canned soups, and infant formula for the SF Marin Food Bank.
