San Francisco received a call from President Donald Trump stating he was "calling off any plans for a federal deployment" in the city, with earlier uncertainty about whether that applied to the wider Bay Area. Protests continued after shots were fired at the entrance to the Alameda Coast Guard base when a U-Haul attempted to reverse into the gate. Two people were injured in the Thursday night incident. The FBI is investigating the shooting.
