Skatin' Place in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park is a dedicated outdoor area for roller skating. The venue is located at 6th Avenue and Kennedy Drive and is recognized as the home for outdoor roller skating in the city. Skating is available every day, with organized group sessions on Sundays from noon to 5 pm. On most Sundays, a mobile DJ plays groovy tunes for inline and roller skaters, and participants often teach choreographed roller disco dance moves. Skaters also gather on Wednesdays from about 3 to 5 pm and on Saturdays from 1 to 5 pm, with extended hours to 6 pm during Daylight Saving Time. The event is free, and details may change.
